The Revive ’15 conference on Women Teaching Women was a wonderful encouragement for ladies in general, but to those in leadership especially.
Nancy Leigh DeMoss surveyed a number of Scriptures as she gave two talks on “The Power of Divine Anointing” and “Marks of an Anointed Ministry.” My favourite session was her final encouragement from 2 Timothy 3 and 4, “A Charge to Teach the Word.”
Jen Wilkin walked us through James 3, reminding us of the power of the tongue, and how the call to teach the Word should not be taken lightly. She also gave two excellent sessions on practical tools for both personal study and teaching the Bible to women.
Dr. Eric Mason added an energetic flavour to the pulpit and gave a powerful talk on “The Role of Repentance in the Life of a Bible Teacher” from Psalm 51. It has become such a familiar passage, that I had never noticed after David repented of his sin and cried out for mercy, he wrote, “then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will return to you” (Psalm 51:13). It was a powerful reminder of the ongoing role of repentance in the life of a believer.
Lauren Chandler of the Village Church led musical worship with humility and grace. Her team did an outstanding job in helping us to focus on Christ and his rightful place in our hearts and minds.
